Bassinet Bedding & More

Baby bassinet bedding comes fitted especially for your particular bassinet and usually includes a thin mattress pad with various thicknesses available.

A typical dimension measurement for a bassinet mattress would be 28? x 52” with a 1 to 2-inch thickness. Common to such mattresses for bassinets and cribs are the various layers. For example, they often come quilted with a 100% cotton layer on the outside and are filled with soft polyester/fiber filler.
Bassinet Mattresses

Most bassinet mattresses are 100% waterproof due to the vinyl covering they feature on the outside, allowing mom to clean up any messes with greater ease than if waterproof sleeping arrangements were unavailable for her baby.

The pads are secured into their proper position in the bassinet among other articles of bedding by the elastic that runs along the sides. Available with some mattress pads for bassinets are allergy barriers composed of polyurethane.

Such layers on a bassinet mattress pad are also waterproof, and they make allergies less of a problem among other articles of the bassinet bedding that may be prone to collecting dust. They will often offer complete protection from dust mites.

As for sheets and other articles of bassinet bedding, sheets are available in all colors imaginable with the bulk of them being light, soft colors for the little one’s comfort. The emphasis, in this case, is on the fact that one may or may not know whether the expected child is a boy or a girl, so sheet colors are available that are appropriate for either. Sheets are fitted, with elastic on the sides and/or corners to ensure a secure fit.
Bassinet Skirt

A bassinet skirt is another element of the bedding for which many options are available. Often, bed skirts come in white with decorative ruffles or lace. Other colors, of course, are available. Most of them are soft blues or pinks appropriate for girls or boys, respectively.

The skirt often extends through the rest of the bassinet, providing a liner in which one can place the sheeted mattress pad and other articles of bassinet bedding. At the bottom of the bassinet, it will drape down to the floor for an elegant look, obscuring the mesh basket storage space underneath your sleeping child.
Bassinet Blankets

Soft bassinet blankets are also available to place within the bedding, and small baby-sized bassinet pillows designed to be small enough to fit inside the bassinet with the rest of the bedding often are included with bedding sets.
